BALI

Tips

Medications: in Bali you will find hospitals and health centers where you can be attended in case of illness, as well as pharmacies in case you need any medication, although we recommend that you bring a small first aid kit for your comfort, in which we would include:

  • Digital thermometer to monitor fever and determine if you should seek medical help.
  • Bandages to hold a small twist.
  • Sterile gauze pads to clean and cover scratches or small injuries.
  • Sticking plaster.
  • Bandages and anti-blistering dressing are very useful for possible chafing, very common due to the heat and the rhythm of excursions.
  • The wipes with alcohol or antiseptic gel are very good for disinfecting wounds, tweezers, thermometers, even for cleaning hands.
  • Antiseptic betadine to treat wounds, burns etc.
  • Physiological serum recommended to achieve good eye hygiene in case of conjunctivitis or other problems, but in principle it is not recommended for dry eye, since having a high concentration of salt can cause the opposite effect to dry out more “in that In this case, artificial tears would be used ”. It can also be used to clean small wounds or to decongest the nostrils.
  • Paracetamol is the best pain reliever to fight mild fevers, but it is not as good at controlling inflammation after injury.
  • Anti-inflammatory ibuprofen useful for controlling swelling in the event of an ankle twisting. It also helps with general pain (for example, back pain, toothache, etc.) that may appear. People who think they may have dengue fever should avoid NSAIDs like aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen.
  • Diarrhea pills (loperamide / Imodium) are an unfortunate need. Only the general change in diet and the different bacterial atmosphere can lead to traveler's diarrhea. Avoid taking loperamide until absolutely necessary; Diarrhea is the body's natural way of eliminating bacteria.
  •  Oral serum envelopes very useful  to hydrate and settle the stomach against possible conditions of diarrhea and vomiting.
  • Antihistamines (Ebastel, Loratadine) are helpful in keeping allergies and rashes from exotic foods and plants under control.
  • Motion sickness pills (Biodramina) will be useful on boat trips.

  • Claral Ointment or similar anti-inflammatory medicine for use on the skin. It reduces inflammation and allergic skin reactions and relieves discomfort such as itching, burning sensation and pain. It is good for treating small infections before they become bigger problems "like very common mosquito bites, which sometimes become infected."
  • Voltaren gel indicated to reduce inflammation and as a muscle pain reliever, very practical to calm any type of blow, pull, or sprain.
  • Anti-mosquitoes very necessary, although we recommend buying one in Bali stores, since they are non-aggressive natural remedies for the skin that even babies use. Also much more effective "than the classic Relec". Do not use colognes or scented creams as they attract a lot of these insects, just like bees to honey :)
  • Sun protection, its use is essential because the intensity of the sun in this area is very high and the great heat and humidity of 30 to 40 degrees throughout the year, makes the exposure very high. We also recommend bringing moisturizer to take great care of the skin of the face and body, since it suffers a lot until it acclimatizes to the new environment, especially thin white skin. Highly recommended drinking plenty of water.
  • Tweezers can be used to remove splinters and other non-skin discomfort. You have to check them in on the plane!
  • Latex gloves are essential if first aid is administered to another person or comes in contact with body fluids.
